I get tons of inquires from people wanting Broken Bow cabin rental tips. What are the most important things to consider before reserving a luxury cabin in Beavers Bend?

My Top 5 Broken Bow Cabin Rental Tips

Make sure your cabin will be secluded. I’m not saying you need to be on a hundred acres with no one nearby. You want to have peace and quiet when spending a lot of money on a vacation. Often, Broken Bow visitors don’t realize another cabin is nearby until they arrive. Surprise, the Beavers Bend cabin management company didn’t tell you about nearby neighbors on their website! Ask for perimeter pictures and videos of the property. There are scores of cabins being built close together now that the economy has picked up.
Don’t Pay Add-On/Resort Fees. @KillResortFees is a great follow on Twitter. They’ve been featured here a few times. @KillResortFees does fantastic job of exposing tourist scams across the country. Resort fees, insurance fees, incidental fees, hot tub fees, cleaning fees…they’re prevalent punches to your pocketbook at a plethora of hotels and resorts. We never gouge our guests with this junk at Mountain Vista
Stay Clear Of Honkey Tonks. So you’ve booked a great looking cabin online and you arrive to the sounds of this blaring through your cabin.

Make sure your cabin isn’t near a loud bar with outdoor tunes crankin’ until the wee hours of the morning. This happens frequently and unless you brought earplugs, it could be a sleepless night.

4. Know T’s & C’s. Read the terms and conditions carefully before booking a Beavers Bend luxury cabin. If you see penny-pinching things such as “We provide two trash bags. If you need a third, bring it,” punt them to the curb! We provide plenty of trash bags and all the essentials you’ll need at our Mountain Vista vacation home.

5. Understand vacation and rental home differences. Sometimes management companies will own cabins with the sole purpose of renting them. They’re not true vacation homes. Corners will often be cut regarding amenities, location and proximity to a loud highway. These cabins are usually smaller and very close together. A vacation home will probably offer more upscale features such as free firewood, s’mores kits and non-generic supplies. Our guests at Mountain Vista don’t get cheap paper towels and toilet paper. We feature the Real McCoy’s. Free firewood and s’mores kits are given to every guest.

Mid October to mid-November is beautiful near Broken Bow Lake during fall foliage season. Make your luxury cabin reservations soon.

One of the best fall activities in Beavers Bend is taking the Talimena Scenic Drive. The winding roads north of Broken Bow offer amazing views for photographers.

Summer is in full swing at Mountain Vista cabin in Broken Bow. Our weekends are packed until mid-August and we only have a few July weekdays available.

DFW’s premier gun range visited Mountain Vista luxury cabin in Broken Bow, OK and tell us we hit the bullseye with our location and amenities.

Beavers Bend’s Grand Champion Show Dog

We’ve been in the dog show world over 20 years and love it. American Kennel Club (AKC) Dog shows are a great place to learn about different breeds. That’s how we broke into this crazy game.

Sherri and I attended a dog show and were hooked. We’ve been blessed with world-class show dogs for decades. Kula is named after a little town in Upcounty Maui where we were married many years ago.

Summer Beavers Bend Cabins

The great Summer Beavers Bend cabins are in high demand.

We have a few openings at the end of June and Mountain Vista is almost packed in July.

There are usually plenty of star sightings in Beavers Bend when the weather gets warm and Memorial Weekend was no exception. New Orleans Saints running back Adrian Peterson was seen at many locations near Broken Bow Lake.

Peterson is pictured above with my lifetime pal, Skip Copeland. Skip owns the new Rolling Fork Takery restaurant in Hochatown. He and wife, Shellye, will make a dramatic impact on the dining scene in Beavers Bend.

Rolling Fork is just north of Girls Gone Wine to the right. It will be open in the next few weeks. Trust me, you’ve never seen anything like this concept in Beavers Bend. Great organic food, live music and great people.

Our new Beavers Bend horseshoe pit has already been a huge hit with guests! Recent Mountain Vista visitors said they spent tons of time throwing shoes last weekend.

The beautiful new custom pit was installed last week with “Mountain Vista” ingrained on the box.

Solar lights have been installed in case the battle for ringers goes past dusk. The Mountain Vista horseshoe pit receives additional light from the second level of the cabin. Seats are situated around the pit to provide relaxation in case of a grueling match.

The history of horseshoes dates back to the second century. Here’s more than you’ve ever wanted to know about the sport! You’ll be able to see the Kiamichi Mountains from the Mountain Vista horseshoe pit.

When choosing a luxury rental cabin in Beavers Bend State Park there are a few things to consider…

How close is the nearest cabin?
How close will the nearest live music be cranking at night?
Does the cabin charge resort fees?
Does the cabin charge cleaning fees?
Does the cabin charge insurance fees?

Do a little homework before visiting a Broken Bow luxury cabin and you’ll have a much better experience. Also pay attention the popular “firewood charge.” If $100 for a few sticks of wood sounds like a great deal to you, go for it!

We never charge these add-on fees at Mountain Vista. The firewood is free along with s’mores kits and a plethora of other upscale amenities.

Mountain Vista has a few days open next week, but hardly any weekends available until August.
