Beavers Bend Boating & Coffee HouseBeavers Bend Boating & Coffee House

Broken Bow Lake luxury cabin visitors now have more options for entertainment and a hot cup of Java when visiting Kiamichi Country. A Beavers Bend boating and coffee house has now opened in our area.

I stopped in and visited the friendly staff at Adam & Eve’s Coffee House, Cafe & General Store today. I’m told that’s their real names…Adam & Eve! Unfortunately, they weren’t in while I visited their store.

I was very impressed with the outgoing staff and their sandwich/coffee bar is clean, well organized and a welcome addition to Beavers Bend State Park. Numerous customers were enjoying the food and free Wi-Fi service while I roamed the store. They have a convenient location, across the street from the Beavers Bend State Park turnoff on Highway 259 North.

I hope to meet the Hochatown Adventures staff soon. They’re offering a much needed service to the Broken Bow Lake area. Many of our guests at Mountain Vista have inquired about boat rides through the years. You’re missing out if you don’t hop aboard a boat on Broken Bow Lake! Don’t just settle for the road views of Broken Bow Lake.  Explore it, especially the upper north end. It’s breathtaking.

Affordable Three Bedroom Cabins in Beavers Bend

2014-06-10T15:06:22+00:00June 10th, 2014|Lake Cabins, Luxury travel, nature, travel blogs|

Affordable three bedroom cabins in Beavers Bend

Broken Bow Lake visitors are constantly searching for affordable three-bedroom cabins in Beavers Bend, but costs can be deceiving if you don’t do your homework.

Many companies are tacking on extra fees of 18-25% in addition to a several hundred dollar per-night charge. Carefully look at the “fine print” before reserving a luxury cabin in Beavers Bend State Park. Lower nightly rates may appear appealing upon first glance, but once you see the guest gouging charges on your invoice, your lighter pocketbook will be begging you to make a wiser choice on your next visit to Broken Bow Lake.

A cabin in Beavers Bend with all king-size beds are rare but at Mountain Vista cabin, we designed it to include all the comforts you should expect from a luxury getaway destination. We feature all-king bedrooms and private decks that boast fantastic views of the Kiamichi Mountains.

Top Four Mistakes Beavers Bend Cabin Visitors Make

2021-09-17T10:49:26+00:00May 29th, 2014|luxury vacation cabins, outdoors, Property Management, travel blogs|

Top Four Mistakes Beavers Bend Cabin Visitors Make

Are you searching for a luxury cabin near Broken Bow Lake and finding yourself unsure about how to choose a premiere upscale getaway in Beavers Bend State Park?  Well, you are not alone. Here are the top four mistakes Beavers Bend cabin visitors make. Make sure you avoid making these critical errors before reserving a cabin in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

1. Trusting Without Verifying: The old phrase from President Ronald Reagan rings true when choosing a luxury cabin in Beavers Bend State Park. We have previously told you about other cabin management companies unethically using our 20-mile view photos on their websites. Now, a luxury cabin company in Broken Bow is using “Mountain Vista” in their online marketing in hopes of tricking you into believing their cabin is close to us or features the same panoramic views we have been promoting for years. They want to be found in the same Google stream as us and have resorted to black hat tactics.  We find a little humor in this, but yet it is despicable. We have marketed the phrase “Mountain Vista” for years. Our vacation home, Mountain Vista, has been featured in numerous media markets and was showcased with a full-page spread in the Oklahoma Centennial Celebration book, “Treasures of Oklahoma.”

We have been lauded as “A Place To Stay” in Oklahoma by TravelOK and have hosted scores of happy guests over the years…by delivering on our promises and marketing ethically.  If you see “Mountain Vista” or our popular deck views on any private cabin management website but this one, it is false advertising. They are “Piggybacking.”

Our friends at TravelOK and the McCurtain County Tourism Association have full authority to promote us and do a tremendous job. Trust your cabin management company only after verifying their pictures and content is not stolen. If they have our view plastered on their site or try to cleverly use the name “Mountain Vista” in their content, take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of ethical companies in Beavers Bend not trying to ride “Piggyback.”

2. Paying Unnecessary Charges: Luxury cabins are an expensive endeavor and you usually get what you pay for when choosing a Beavers Bend cabin rental. However, be aware of a few “gotcha’s” such as firewood charges, additional cleaning fees (unless you leave a cabin messy) and bogus insurance fees. These fees are simply a way to gouge guests. I’m still amazed when traveling and a hotel tries to charge me $25=$50 for Wi-Fi access. If a cabin company is too cheap to leave a few complimentary pieces of wood for you to burn, find another one. If they tack-on bogus charges when reserving online, punt them and find another Broken Bow Lake cabin rental agency. Study a cabin management company’s Terms and Conditions…there are legal reasons why we all have them, but if they look ridiculous, there is usually a hidden fee on its way to your credit card.

3. Poor Planning Before Arrival: Make sure you know exactly what you will be renting. We have many public figures and private guests who have given us their endorsements through the years…it’s easy to check online. So… you have just arrived at your Beavers Bend getaway cabin rental and “Surprise,” there is a cabin so close next-door that you can hit it with a paper airplane! Wow, they did not mention this on their website! There are loud noises blasting from their stereo and lots of kids yelling… You left home for this?

Examples like this happen frequently to people visiting luxury cabins in Broken Bow. They call us when arriving at other cabins and want to know if we have a vacancy. Make sure you have clear pictures of the rental property perimeter before arriving. If you prefer some semblance of seclusion, find out exactly how close you will be to other cabins and how much free land you will have to explore by yourself.  Are you near a noisy road? Do you see professional videos of the property online that include the entire acreage?  Think about what they are not showing you on the website…and why they are not showing it to you…Then ask about the “gotcha’s.”

Be extremely cautious when you see homemade amateur cabin videos popping up on Beavers Bend websites. You know the ones…bad background music and shaky camera movement… they look like they were produced by a kid in his garage.

4. Not Looking For The Little Things: How involved in guest satisfaction is your Beavers Bend cabin company?  Does it feel like you are renting from a person who truly cares or just “some company” with a lot of cabins they need to rent?  Did you receive proper follow-up prior to arrival? Are they too busy to take your call? Pay attention to the “little things” when doing your research on luxury cabins in Broken Bow. “The top four mistakes Beavers Bend cabin visitors make” scenario does not have to include you.  You can prevent it. There are many great cabins and rental companies in our area…We like those who write their own content and publish their own cabin pictures…not ours!

Top Four Mistakes Beavers Bend Cabin Visitors Make

Follow these tips and contact us if we can assist you with travel plans to the Beavers Bend State Park and Broken Bow Lake area. July 4th Beavers Bend Cabin Tips

2019-07-05T17:10:29+00:00May 15th, 2014|luxury vacation cabins, oklahoma travel, outdoors, travel blogs|

July 4th Beavers Bend CabinsI

If you’re looking for July 4th Beavers Bend cabin tips at Broken Bow Lake, elite accommodations are limited by this time of the year. Our holiday bookings are reserved months in advance.

Several potential Beavers Bend State Park visitors will surely cancel their reservations before Independence Day. We once had a tree trimmer scheduled to arrive July 4th…He had an accident, fell out of a tree and nearly died. Needless to say, he couldn’t make it to Mountain Vista the next day! We’re happy to report he’s doing well now but it’s a perfect example that cancellations do happen…here are a few tips to possibly land the luxury Oklahoma cabin of your dreams during peak and holiday dates in the heavily visited Kiamichi Mountain region.

1. Ask to be placed on a  waiting list with a Broken Bow cabin company. If they don’t have one, give them a few demerit points and take your business elsewhere. All reputable property management organizations should have a waiting list for potential guests. We do. Contact us at 405-535-8055 or email [email protected] and we’ll gladly add you to the list in case we have a cancellation.

2. Keep checking cabin website availability calendars. Ours is updated several times daily and if a guest has an emergency cancellation, we announce it to the world on social media and our Beavers Bend app.

3. Get on a luxury cabin newsletter mailing list. If your favorite cabin company isn’t communicating and keeping in touch with you regarding promotions and VIP special offers, find another one!

Our spring and summer dates are filling fast. The next opening at Mountain Vista is June 1-4 and we don’t have a weekend available until August. Remember to book early for weekends and holidays in Beavers Bend! These peak dates are highly sought after and each year we get many phone calls and emails from people wishing they’d have reserved their July 4th Beavers Bend cabin earlier in the year.

Take a hike, play a round of golf, float Mountain Fork River or hire a fishing guide to help you land the big trout and bass that are plentiful in our area. There’s many activities  to enjoy here but remember to relax and enjoy the views and fresh air. There’s a reason two-million tourists flock to our area annually…the scenery is breathtaking here. Especially from our deck at Mountain Vista!

Follow these July 4th Beavers Bend cabin tips and be persistent. Hopefully you’ll be boating across Broken Bow Lake on Independence Day rather than barbecuing in your backyard!

Beavers Bend Cabins Safety Tips

2019-07-05T17:10:29+00:00May 9th, 2014|luxury cabins, Media, outdoors, travel blogs|

Since warmer weather has arrived near Beavers Bend State Park, tourists and locals have been flocking to Cedar Creek Golf Course and enjoying a jaunt on the beautiful waters of Broken Bow Lake and Mountain Fork River. Always follow these Beavers Bend cabins safety tips below.

If you need your boat serviced while in town, we recommend our lifelong friends at Broadway Boats in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. They also own Bruton’s Outdoors in downtown Broken Bow. If you’re a shop till you drop kind of person, check them out when visiting our area. You’ll need hiking boots upon arrival in our Kiamichi Mountains and they have an amazing selection. They’re great people and offer fantastic deals. Bruton’s Outdoors even feature the old-fashioned sidewalk sales that we love. Sherri recently picked up a pink “cammo hat” that she adores! It looks great on her, I’m the “regular cammo type!”

We’ve had lots of great feedback regarding the “Meet our Beavers Bend Guests” series we began this year on the blog. People visiting the cabin feel a connection with previous guests at Mountain Vista and enjoy reading their chronicles in our guestbook. We have a few additional features “in the can” (as we used to say in the television business) for the future. Each of our guests have a unique story to share…How they heard about Mountain Vista, what brought them here, what they did while touring our area and their thoughts upon departure. I need to tell more of their tremendous stories.

The hot temperatures will soon arrive for guests of Beavers Bend luxury cabins and that means you need to take a few precautions. Insect repellent, water and sports drinks are a few of the “musts’ when visiting Broken Bow Lake cabins during the summer. The older I get, the more I understand the importance of proper hydration…Make sure you’re being smart, using sunscreen and don’t push it too hard in the heat. The summer months can be very humid in the Kiamichi Mountains and the heat can creep up on you quickly. Bring a big, big hat!

Take care of yourself, friends and family when visiting our area with the heat on the way. Our app has emergency phone numbers  listed to help you in case an unexpected situation arises.

Stay and play in Beavers Bend State Park soon! We can answer most of your questions regarding tourism in the Broken Bow Lake area. Call us at 405-535-8055 or visit our website at BeaversBendVacations.com. We have no weekends available until August but several weekdays are still open.

Remember, we never charge for firewood or add bogus charges to your bankroll like extra insurance. Be smart when choosing your luxury cabin in Broken Bow. Our area is the most beautiful real estate in the ArkLaTex…Come enjoy it with us!
