Top 5 Beavers Bend Memorial Weekend Tips

Mountain Vista Luxury Cabin

My Top 5 Beavers Bend Memorial Weekend Tips will enhance your stay while visiting a cabin in Beavers Bend State Park.

  • Grab coffee and breakfast at Adam & Eve’s Coffee House. We love their freshly ground coffee’s and breakfast items…great sandwiches during lunch. If you forgot something from home while visiting a Beavers Bend cabin, they’ll probably have it.

  • Visit all the wineries in Beavers Bend. Broken Bow now has three and all are great places to sip a little vino. Girls Gone Wine, Vojai’s Winery and Fish Tales Winery and Vineyards. Many visit all three in a day. Each location is only minutes apart.

  • Meet Food Network Champion Chef, Tabb Singleton at his Moon Tower Bar and Grill. To say this globally renowned chef is popular is an understatement. Over 1-million people have read my piece on him since December.

  • Get on Broken Bow Lake in a boat. You can’t truly enjoy it until you’re on the water. Seeing the lake from a roadside or bank isn’t the way to experience Oklahoma’s most beautiful body of water.

  • Don’t drink and drive/speed. Beavers Bend will be packed during Memorial Weekend. Have patience and realize that filling up with gas and having your dinner served will be delayed with the large crowds. Law enforcement is always out in full-force during holidays near Broken Bow Lake cabins. Be smart and kind to one another.

Your cabin management companies will be stretched to the limit during this holiday weekend in Beavers Bend. I’ve written extensively for years about what you should be looking for before reserving a luxury cabin. Hopefully, you did extensive research and will be pleased upon arrival at your getaway.

Oklahoma City visitors traveling to Beavers Bend, checkout SpannMan’s BBQ in Antlers. The blue food truck on the main drag through town is one of my favorite eateries on earth. SpannMan is a champion BBQ chef and scores of Broken Bow Lake cabin visitors have enjoyed his cuisine for years. SpannMan has been featured multiple times in the Oklahoma Today Magazine.

I’m feeling generous…here’s a sixth tip; Ride the duck! The Broken Bow Lake Duck boat tour is one of the hottest tourist attractions in Beavers Bend State Park.

You won’t go wrong with any of my Top 5 Beavers Bend Memorial Weekend Tips. Enjoy the holiday and we invite you to visit Mountain Vista cabin in Broken Bow soon!

Beavers Bend’s Favorite Show Dog!

GCh. Hilltops Time For Kula To Fly

GCh. Hilltops Time For Kula To Fly

Beavers Bend’s favorite show dog had a huge weekend at the American Kennel Club’s Oklahoma City Toy Show last weekend.

Two Best of Breed wins in the Brussels Griffon class, both victories were five-point majors. He won against tremendous dogs from across the country.

Sherri and I have been involved in the dog show world for over 20-years and greatly enjoy it.

“Kula” is five-years-old and loves being in the show ring and at Beavers Bend! Sherri has handled Kula to each of his victories as he’s become a nationally ranked Grand Champion.

Limbs For Life Foundation

Former FEMA Director Michael Brown and Jerry Isbell

Former FEMA Director Michael Brown and Jerry Isbell

My favorite charity is the Limbs for Life Foundation. I’ve served on their board of directors for about 10 years. As chairman of their governance committee, charged with recruiting talented new board members, I’m thrilled with our latest additions.

Michael Brown, former FEMA Director under President George W. Bush and native Oklahoman, joined our board along with national speaker and philanthropist, Adrianne Haslet.

I began talking with Michael about the Limbs for Life Foundation late last year. I was immediately impressed by his great heart and desire to help us provide prosthetics for needy amputees around the world.

Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will benefit the Limbs for Life Foundation across the globe. He hosts a popular radio show in Denver that is syndicated on iHeartRadio. He is a frequent guest on national television and a popular event speaker.

Adrianne Haslet

Adrianne lost her leg in the Boston Bombing terror attack and became a fan of Limbs For Life.  We became bigger fans of her. She developed a great relationship with our staff and has raised thousands of dollars to benefit Limbs for Life. Adrianne has been a world-class ballroom dancer for years.

A tremendous athlete, she recently received international media attention by finishing the 2016 Boston Marathon while running with a prosthetic device.

I heard Adrianne speak at a Limbs for Life luncheon in Dallas a couple of weeks ago and was floored. I know a rock-star when I see one…and asked her immediately to join our board.

Adrianne has an inspiring story, is a world-class speaker, and has been a tireless advocate for our foundation. She will take the mission of Limbs For Life to an entirely new level with her talent and dedication.

There is no research dollars spent with our foundation. All the research has been done…the cure is a prosthetic limb.

Sunset At Mountain Vista

Mountain Vista is known for tremendous views, seclusion and upscale amenities. We have acres of seclusion and a few friends that enjoy hanging out in our trees.

This whippoorwill’s song kept us company while relaxing on the deck and taking in a sunset. Rather than irritating road noise that many cabins feature due to building near a busy highway, we prefer this!

July 4th weekend has become available at Mountain Vista in Beavers Bend State Park. A four-night minimum stay is required. This open date won’t last long.

Weekends are full in May but don’t forget about our special travel deal. Arrive on Sundays during May and your fourth-night is free.

July 21-24 is the only non-holiday weekend available until August. We have many loyal fans staying at Mountain Vista four-six times per year. Why?

No add-on fees for firewood, insurance, cleaning and Internet. Watch out for incidental and resort fee charges. We’ve added a few new items to our popular s’mores kits and as always, they’re on the house!

Sing a new tune the next time you visit Beavers Bend. Say “no” to the add-on fee jingle others play to pad their pockets.

Choosing A Beavers Bend Cabin Management Company

“I need help choosing a Beavers Bend cabin management company.” We hear this on a weekly basis.

There are numerous cabin companies in Broken Bow offering property management services. Lots of great people attempting to make their owners happy. There are other places where your just a number.

Before jumping into the Beavers Bend luxury cabin rental game, understand how to choose a great cabin management company.

Ask yourself these questions before choosing a Beavers Bend cabin management company.

  • Is the company’s marketing extraordinary? Being successful in the luxury rental business is much more than simply having a cabin picture on a website and hoping for the best. Make sure you’re fishing with a good lure that makes them bite. Otherwise, don’t fish.
  • Do they have a limited number of cabins in order to market mine? If you choose a company with 30-60 other cabins on their website, you’re nuts and will get no individualized attention.
  • Do they have a rock star website? No one wants to rent a luxury vacation cabin when the website looks like something from a third-world country. If the pictures and videos on a website aren’t stellar, no one will think your cabin is either.
  • Do they incorporate professional video with their marketing strategy? Not cheap iPhone stuff. Anyone with elite marketing experience will tell you great video sells. Bad video keeps them away.
  • Do they have a significant social media presence?
  • Do they gouge guests with add-on fees? Potential cabin guests are smart and have learned the hard way not to get shafted with needless charges like resort fees, insurance, cleaning, incidental fees and firewood. We sell against this and it works wonderfully for us. It’s not only the right thing to do, its smart business. We don’t penny-pinch guests.
  • Is the company on the cutting-edge of technology? Do they blog, have an app, newsletter, push-notification or advertising program? If the answer is “no,” don’t hire them.

There are approximately 1,500 cabins in Beavers Bend. Rates range from $100/night to near infinity. Do your homework before deciding to tag team with a company already promoting scores of cabins.

If you’re considering hiring a property management company, make sure they’re marketing and media experts. We can market your cabin via our vast array of technology and professional media experience. Also make sure you see every invoice for any work done on your cabin. Some are notorious for marking up the price to cabin owners.

Choosing a Beavers Bend cabin management company
